Mr. Raj Rawat is the Founder, Owner, and CEO of MakemyHikes, a passionate entrepreneur and mountain expert dedicated to creating safe, affordable, and unforgettable trekking experiences in the Himalayan region.
His journey is a true example of following passion with courage and determination.
Raj Rawat initially pursued Civil Engineering, where he developed a strong foundation in structure, planning, and discipline. After completing his studies, he worked for one year in a corporate company, gaining professional experience and understanding of the corporate world.
However, despite a stable career path, his heart always belonged to the mountains.
Driven by his deep love for nature and adventure, he made a bold decision to resign from his corporate job and follow his true passion — exploring the mountains and building something meaningful for fellow adventure lovers.
This decision marked the beginning of an inspiring journey.
Since 2018, Raj Rawat has been actively involved in trekking, exploration, and organizing adventure experiences across the Himalayas. What started as a personal passion soon transformed into a mission — to make trekking safe, easy, and affordable for everyone.
With more than 32+ treks successfully completed, he has gained extensive real-time experience in handling different terrains, weather conditions, and high-altitude challenges. His deep understanding of mountain routes ensures that every trek is well-planned and secure.
Raj Rawat is also a professional skier, which adds a technical edge to his mountain expertise. His ability to navigate snow-covered terrains and manage extreme conditions makes him a highly skilled and reliable trek leader.
As a mountain expert and tour operator, he has organized numerous treks across the Himalayan region, focusing on safety, proper guidance, and delivering authentic experiences rather than just commercial trips.
One of his most remarkable achievements is the exploration and reccy of the Chanshal Pass trek route. Through his dedication and hard work, he successfully identified and developed a safe and breathtaking trail passing through untouched and beautiful meadows, making it accessible for trekkers.
This contribution reflects his commitment to discovering new paths and enhancing the trekking experience for adventure seekers.

With 3–4 years of hands-on field experience and consistent performance, he was promoted to Field Manager. His journey reflects growth, leadership, and deep understanding of on-ground operations, making him a trusted name within the organization.

His leadership and discipline made him a reliable name within the team. In 2025, he was promoted to Field Manager for his outstanding performance. In his current role, he manages equipment and field arrangements efficiently. He ensures that all camping sites are properly organized and well-prepared. He focuses on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at all campsites. He ensures all trekking equipment is clean, safe, and in proper condition. He takes special care of safety equipment for every trek. He ensures all necessary gear is available and ready before expeditions. He closely monitors on-ground operations for smooth execution. Our Journey So Far
Arjun led his first official group trek to Kedarkantha with just 6 trekkers. The overwhelmingly positive response planted the seed for Make My Hikes.
Make My Hikes was officially incorporated and opened its first office in Dehradun, GMS Road — the heart of the Himalayan adventure economy.
Despite pandemic challenges, we expanded our certified guide team and added 20 new trek routes including Kashmir Great Lakes and Hampta Pass.
We crossed the landmark of 5,000 happy trekkers with a 99% satisfaction rating — a testament to our team's dedication and the power of the mountains.
