Kedarnath–Badrinath Yatra
A sacred Himalayan pilgrimage covering two of India’s most revered temples—Kedarnath and Badrinath—blending spirituality, scenic drives, and a classic mountain trek.
Overview & About
The Kedarnath–Badrinath Yatra is one of the most spiritually significant pilgrimage journeys in the Indian Himalayas. This sacred route takes devotees to two of the holiest temples in Uttarakhand — Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
The journey begins from Haridwar/Rishikesh and travels deep into the Garhwal Himalayas through river valleys, mountain roads, ancient temples, and spiritual towns. Pilgrims experience the divine atmosphere of Kedarnath, located amidst snow-covered peaks near the Mandakini River, followed by the peaceful and majestic Badrinath Temple situated along the Alaknanda River.
Apart from temple visits, the yatra also includes scenic and spiritual attractions like Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Dhari Devi Temple, Joshimath, Mana Village, Tapt Kund, Saraswati River, Bhim Shila, and Narsingh Dev Temple.
The Kedarnath trek is physically demanding due to the steep uphill route, while the rest of the journey is completed comfortably by road through breathtaking Himalayan landscapes.
