Day 1: Drive from Dehradun to Sankri (Base Camp) (approx. 200 km)

  •  Scenic drive through Uttarakhand hills to the quaint village of Sankri, the starting point of the trek.

Day 2: Trek from Sankri to Juda Ka Talab (approx. 4 km)

  •  Easy trek through forests and small streams, reaching the picturesque Juda Ka Talab campsite.

Day 3: Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp (approx. 3.5 km)

  •  Gradual ascent through dense pine and oak forests to the snowy Kedarkantha Base Camp.

Day 4: Early morning summit and return to Sankri (approx. 6 km)

  •  Pre-dawn hike to Kedarkantha Peak for panoramic sunrise views, then descend back to Sankri.

Day 5: Drive back to Dehradun

  •  Drive down the scenic route from Sankri to Dehradun, concluding the trek.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Dehradun to Sankri (Base Camp) (approx. 200 km)

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Sankri (approx. 200 km). The 8-10 hour journey passes through Mussoorie, pine forests, and river valleys. Sankri is a quaint village that serves as the base for many Himalayan treks.

Day 2: Trek from Sankri to Juda Ka Talab (approx. 4 km)

Begin your trek from Sankri to Juda Ka Talab (approx. 4 km). The trail is surrounded by towering trees and snow-laden paths. Juda Ka Talab, a serene high-altitude lake, is partially frozen during winters and provides a stunning campsite.

Day 3: Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp (approx. 3.5 km)

Head towards the Kedarkantha Base Camp (approx. 3.5 km). As you climb higher, the forest opens up into wide snow fields with panoramic views. Camp here under a starlit sky.

Day 4: Early morning summit and return to Sankri (approx. 6 km).

Start your trek early to reach the Kedarkantha summit. The 6 km round trip is challenging but immensely rewarding. Watch the first light hit the mighty Himalayas, offering a view you’ll never forget. Return to Sankri by evening.

Day 5: Drive back to Dehradun

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Dehradun with unforgettable memories created with Make My Hikes.
