What sets this trek apart is the perfect balance — it’s short, beginner-friendly, yet extremely fulfilling. On clear days, you can witness the towering peaks of Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Kedarnath, and Trishul lighting up the skyline.

The Chopta Tungnath Trek can be done almost year-round. For lush greenery and cool weather, visit from March to June. If you prefer snow trails and peaceful surroundings, go from October to December. Avoid monsoon (July-August) due to slippery paths.
The trek is Easy, making it ideal for beginners, families (kids above 7), or even senior citizens with moderate fitness. It’s a short but high-reward trek that doesn’t require prior trekking experience.
Start early morning from Rishikesh, and drive along the Ganga and Mandakini rivers. Pass through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Ukhimath. Reach Chopta by evening — a peaceful village tucked between forests and snow-capped peaks.
Spend the day adjusting to the altitude. You can take a short walk in the surrounding forest or simply relax and enjoy the crisp mountain air. Warm food, great views, and the Make My Hikes hospitality will make you feel at home.
Begin early to trek 3.5 km uphill to Tungnath Temple. The trail is paved and passes through scenic forests and meadows. After darshan at the temple, continue another 1.5 km to Chandrashila Peak. The summit rewards you with views of Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Kedarnath, and more. Descend back to Chopta by evening.
Relax at the camp, or visit Sari village and trek to Deoriatal Lake — another hidden gem with mountain reflections in its waters. This buffer day ensures flexibility and lets you soak in more local beauty.
