Trek Overview

Imagine walking on soft, rolling grasslands that stretch endlessly, surrounded by snow-covered Himalayan peaks. That’s the Dayara Bugyal Trek for you — one of the most stunning alpine meadow treks in Uttarakhand. “Bugyal” literally means “high-altitude meadow”, and Dayara is arguably the most picturesque of them all.

The trail is a magical blend of dense oak forests, flowing streams, quaint Himalayan villages, and finally, the wide-open grasslands of Dayara that burst into colors during summer and turn into a white paradise in winter.

With Make My Hikes, this dreamy experience becomes smooth and memorable. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned trekker looking to relax in nature’s lap, Dayara Bugyal offers that perfect escape — peaceful, soul-refreshing, and absolutely breathtaking.

Highlights

  • Trek through lush alpine meadows with panoramic mountain views
  • View majestic peaks like Bandarpunch, Draupadi Ka Danda & Black Peak
  • Experience local Garhwali culture in villages like Raithal or Barsu
  • Perfect for beginners, photographers, and nature lovers
  • Camp under star-lit skies with cozy tents and mountain hospitality

Best Time to Visit

May to early July brings vibrant green meadows and cool weather — perfect for nature photography.
September to December offers clear skies and breathtaking snowy landscapes.
In winter (Dec-Jan), it turns into a white wonderland — perfect for snow trekking and camping. Avoid the monsoon months (July–August) due to slippery trails.

Difficulty Level

This trek is Easy to Moderate, suitable for beginners, kids (above 8), and even first-time trekkers with basic fitness. The trails are not too steep, and the beauty at every step keeps you motivated to go on.

Day 2: Trek from Raithal to Gui Campsite

Begin your trek today — it’s a gentle 4 km walk through pine and oak forests. The Gui campsite offers serene views and a peaceful ambiance. Acclimatize here, enjoy your first night under the stars with Make My Hikes’ delicious food and warm bonfire stories.

Day 3: Trek from Gui to Dayara Bugyal

This is the most scenic part. Trek another 4–5 km to reach the expansive meadows of Dayara Bugyal. Watch the landscape open up — wide green lands, wildflowers (in summer), and Himalayan peaks all around. Camp here or slightly below the top.

Day 4: Summit Dayara Top & Return to Gui
