The best time to embark on the Bhrigu Lake Trek is from May to October, when the weather is pleasant and the trekking conditions are optimal. The summer months (May to June) offer lush green meadows, while July to September brings a beautiful monsoon atmosphere, making the meadows even more vibrant. The autumn months (September to October) offer clear skies and pleasant weather, making it the most popular time to visit.
The winter months (November to February) are cold and often have heavy snowfall, making the trek difficult for beginners. However, experienced trekkers can enjoy the snowy terrain during this time.
The Bhrigu Lake Trek is classified as moderate in terms of difficulty. The trail is relatively well-defined, but it involves steep ascents and descents, and the altitude may make it challenging for some trekkers. However, it is suitable for trekkers with some prior trekking experience and a good fitness level. The trek covers approximately 26 kilometers, and the highest point is the Bhrigu Lake at an altitude of 4,300 meters.
While it does not require technical climbing, trekkers should be prepared for a steady climb to the lake, which takes a few days to complete. The trek involves camping at various points along the way, giving trekkers time to adjust to the altitude.
